Protestuesit janë përleshur me Policinë në Tblisi të Gjeorgjisë herët të premten pasi partia në pushtet njoftoi se Qeveria do të pezullonte bisedimet për anëtarësimin në Bashkimin Evropian deri në vitin 2028.
Ministria e Brendshme ka thënë se tre policë janë lënduar, dy prej të cilëve janë hospitalizuar, raportoi Guardian.

Policia hodhi ujë dhe përdori sprej e gaz lotsjellës për të shpërndarë protestuesit ndërsa persona të maskuar u përpoqën të hynin në parlament. Disa protestues hodhën fishekzjarrë dhe thirrën “rusë” e “skllevër”.
Mijëra protestues pro Bashkimit Evropian kishin bllokuar rrugët para se të fillonte përplasja. Presidentja Salome Zourabichvili e akuzoi Qeverinë për shpallje të luftës ndaj popullit të saj dhe kritikoi policinë duke pyetur nëse i shërbenin Gjeorgjisë apo Rusisë.
